Taegeuk Yuk Jang


Blue belts must learn this form in order to advance to blue belt with red stripe. The blue belt signifies that the student's knowledge of Taekwondo is reaching new heights like a small sapling that has grown into a tree towering into the sky.

Ready Position
  1. Turn left 90° into front stance left foot forward with left hand down block.
  2. Right leg front snap kick. Return right foot to rear and set down in back stance with left foot forward and left hand outside block with fist facing forward.
  3. Turn right 180° into front stance right foot forward with right hand down block.
  4. Left leg front snap kick. Return left foot to rear and set down in back stance with right foot forward and right hand outside block with fist facing forward.
  5. Turn left 90° into left foot forward front stance with right open-hand extended high block.
  6. Right leg roundhouse kick stepping down in front facing 90° to the left in a standing position.
  7. Step out into left foot forward front stance with left hand outside block, fist forward, followed by a right hand middle punch.
  8. Right leg front snap kick stepping down in right leg forward front stance with left hand reverse middle punch.
  9. Turn right 180° into right leg forward front stance with right hand outside block, fist forward, followed by a left hand middle punch.
  10. Left leg front snap kick stepping down in left leg forward front stance with right hand reverse middle punch.
  11. Pivot on right foot counterclockwise 90° into a ready stance while executing a double down block.
  12. Step forward into right foot forward front stance with left open-hand extended high block.
  13. Left leg rounghouse kick with a YELL! Step down in front facing 90° to the right in a standing position.
  14. Pivot counterclockwise on left foot 180° into right foot forward front stance with right hand down block.
  15. Left leg front snap kick. Return left foot to rear and set down in back stance with right foot forward and right hand outside block with fist facing forward.
  16. Turn left 180° into front stance left foot forward with left hand down block.
  17. Right leg front snap kick. Return right foot to rear and set down in back stance with left foot forward and left hand outside block with fist facing forward.
  18. Pivot on left foot counterclockwise 90° into left foot forward back stance with twin knife-hand middle block.
  19. Step back into right foot forward back stance with twin knife-hand middle block.
  20. Step back into left foot forward front stance with left hand palm block across followed by right hand reverse middle punch.
  21. Step back into right foot forward front stance with right hand palm block across followed by left hand reverse middle punch.
Return to ready position.
